meatsauce [Jan. 15th, 2007|08:52 pm]
[Current Music |brigitte mixes (nerd!!)]

I am looking forward to this year, it should be interesting. I moved to a new position in the company (not necessarily a promotion, but I'll call it that).
It provides me with more of the basic building blocks for life on earth ($$$) and am handling products and doing work that is much more interesting than what I was doing before. I am in the project management department now, so I will be learning new stuff. There is nothing worse than stagnation at a job, this should satisfy me for a while.
...

brigitte is recording a cd! actually we have nine songs done and recorded. We need to put the finishing touches on maybe three more and get them recorded. We are recording in a way very similar to knid, in our practice space with a computer, but without all the hassle. The new computer geek is jon the drummer in the band, who is really good with his stuff. the old cd is cool in a glitchy way, but i am looking forward to a recording that emulates what we sound like live. hopefully we will have something to share soon.
...

other than that here are some things i am looking forward to in the coming weeks/months/year:
- loving/living with my girlfriend!!!!
- in new apartment!!!!
- with new macbook laptop!!!!
- we go on a trip somewhere!!!!
- and spend time with friends!!!!
- and see arrows play, ummm, for the first time!!!! (how did that happen?)
- play guitar hero/DDR!!!!
- play shows with brigitte!!!!
- visit my sister in Ottawa!!!!
- visit my brother in Barrie!!!! (haha, Barrie)

all new super! [Jan. 9th, 2006|05:26 pm]
So I am in a new band they are called brigitte and I like what is going down. They play the 1-2 minute pop songs that I really like, I think I'll have a lot of fun with these guys.

Yesterday we recorded for a bit and practiced, I was pretty hung over but they were nice about it. I am looking forward to doing more....

I am also looking forward to the debates. I can't wait to see Paul Martin squirm as he tries to hold onto the pathetic excuses of why people should vote for him. And I do want some people to vote for him. Just not me, but just enough to keep Harper out of majority range.

I hate Paul Martin so much I would prefer this:

to this:

I don't think in a minority government setting he will have the opower to completely fuck us all over. I think we will be safe.

Mother Fucking new years!!!!

WOOO!Party....

Today was my first day back to work since the 22nd of Dec. I had a brilliant relaxing holiday but here are some highlights.

Xmas morning with my family and Rizie. My mom bought my Dad a playstation 2 w/ Dance Dance Revolution. I continued to play that game for the remainder of my stay in Brantford.

Christmas night, my mom invited my good friend Don over for dinner. We all ate and then proceeded to get ridiculously drunk. And not on purpose, it kind of came out of nowhere. 5 bottles of wine and 3 cases of beer later, we played poker (I won!!!).

Boxing Day, Rizie went to Alexanders. I didn't. I remember playing with the knid at alexanders for beer, back in 2001ish. We drank $300 dollars worth of beer that night.... memories. Instead I went to the rodeo with some peeps most notably Chris Ladner, Matt Merriot and Andrew Mcclure, who I don't see nearly as often as I should. We drank 1 dollar beers and played pool (I lost!!!). I had admirals and took a cab home. I still smelled like admirals the next day. That was a good night.

Dec. 27th-30th was spent in my home. I watched the Serenity DVD, then I watched the Serentity DVD w/ commentary. Joss Whedon is such a nerd. I love him. I read, listened to music. Walked around with Riz one day looking for some boxing week sales, but didn't find any.

New Years Eve was brilliant. I was woken up with a call from one of my other good friends I rarely see, Dan, who lives in Vancouver and his lvely wife Paula. He happened to be in town and wanted to come to toronto for new years. They came up and it was awesome. I really miss that guy. Also Amanda and Grant was visiting from Amsterdam, and we were out with them as well. I think that made my New Years.

My resolutions... try to eat better food, be more organized, travel somewhere this year. Spend more time with good friends. I also want to start swimming at the local community centre, but we'll see about that.

the name is mack [Nov. 10th, 2005|05:09 pm]
Shit man.... I slept in today. That is OK, I still have my car (any takers??? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 , Ok.) and I drov to work and made it pretty much on time. Last night was fun, I like everyone who was there, good people, but I didn't have a chance to really converse. Due to high high beer prices and low low cash flow, the boyz and I went to a dive down the street to buy two $8.00 pitchers, paid for in tonnies, loonies, quatrers dimes and nickels. The waiters said he "doesn't deal with dimes and nickels".Fuck him man, did he see his surroundings? Since when was cash NOT cash?

Anyway, the supermarket in kensington blows. Try to avoid it. But drinking with friends is fun, try not to avoid it. Happy birthday castle santa!!!

I am starting photoshop classes today. I would just try to learn the program myself, but since my work is paying for it... why not?

I wanted to buy a nice new fall jacket. What I wanted was a trench coat. The only one I oculd find in my price range was one from (gulp) the gap. Boooo...

But I went to VV on Saturday... and I found a nicer jacket, for one fourth the price. It is a mint condish london fog trench coat.

I'll be dammed if it weren't sexy.

Oh my love, but it does. I am on vacation this week. I have nothing firmly planned becuase I don't really want to do anything. I want to be like those people I see wandering the streets of Toronto at 10:00 AM and i think "don't they have jobs?" The answer is no, they're on vacation.

I guess I have somethings planned here is a preliminary list:

laundry (holy shit, I have no underwear!!!)
buy a book, read it in the park
ride my bike
hang around with people
go to my parents house before band practice and go for a swim
band practice
try to practice with the molten boyz (or boys, mnust decide before 1st release)
sleep in once (I did that today, till 11:30... awesome)
thats about it.

[Current Music |Ryan Adams-his new album]

Yes!! I love LJ, like sooo much. I love this place!! Of course I could just write it in a little personal journal, but then no one would know how clever I am and frankly I could die, by strangulationess!!

I figured since I had a whole bunch of better things to do I would post on live journal, because I am a big fan of procrastination.
Here are a couple of things I am looking forward to:
- breakfast: bangers and beans, a sweet limey breakfast
- going to the comic festival rizie is volunteering at, that should be fun.
- party at Kevin's tonight, the "unofficial air guitar championships: life without air would be suicide"
- let's see... track and field on the 4th
- and playing brantford on the 3rd, yeah bicycles!!!!
- oh and I guess this little thing that is happening on june 18th... shit it just slipped my mind, um. JACKIE AND RYAN"S F'N WEDDING!!!! i swear "F'N" is what they wrote on the card. i am so excited to see my good friends join hands in holy matrimony. Will kids be next? How far down the road?? What will their names be??? Will they be guitar gods, not unlike the Ryan Stanley (and possibly Jackie, I haven't seen her with an ax yet)???? I suggest you stay tuned.
Seriously Ryan and Jackie, I am so happy for you guys!!
- And last but certainly not least, my Nana's birthday, on July 23rd. That should be fun, I love you Nana!!!

EDIT: Actually last and certainly not least is the loveable rizie roculans birthday, June 17th. How did I miss that? What kind of boyfriend am I?? A super one.

I think that will do.

Brantford, once again. [Apr. 2nd, 2005|12:57 pm]

[Current Music |none, yet.]

I am in Brantford right now at my parents house. By myself. The first thing I did when I got here was eat the following: cinnamon toast crunch and malt loaf.
Cinnamon toast crunch is one of my favorite "dessert" cereals. Malt loaf, used to be one of my favorite things to eat when I was younger. It is malt bread toasted with butter. I love coming home and eating food I would never buy on my own.

Oh cruel world, why do you mock me so?

OK I know sometimes people are all, like "i have had the WORST day", and it is something totally gay like their dog licked his balls and then licked someones cheek.
OK here goes:

1) woke up early today (bad start, but have to get recording done)
2) As per #1, woke up early to find out a winter storm is dumping on us.
3) started driving to brantford, forgot bass... went back home to get it.
4) started driving to brantford (again), made it to the ford plant (as in the factory, you stupid fuck) my car stalled. on the highway. in the snow. blocking traffic. it is fucking slippery out. life is in danger.
5) Because I didn't want to be in my car if a truck slammed into me (remember I am blocking traffic) I stand under a bridge and call a tow truck
5) Called a tow truck co., who advised me it would take 2 hours (very busy today), so instead I call the OPP.
6) waiting.waiting waitning... under a bridge. Did i mention it is -20 out probably colder w/ wind chill.
7) OPP comes and pushed my car off the highway. WITH HIS CAR!!!!!
8) OPP calls a tow, I wait in my car shivering for 45 minutes, reading the unbearably lame toronto rag NOW magazine. (I am all about left wing politics, but fuck these guys are NUTS!!, bu that is another story.)
9) Tow comes and of course there is no mechanics open today. SO he tows me to Toronto ($200!!!!!!)
10) I leave my car at a mechanic in Toronto, get my bass and hop on the TTC. Then I realize my house keys are with my cars keys, with the fucking mechanic!!!
11) I take the street car to Rizies work and then walk home all the while lugging my heavy bass case.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my suburban white male, first world problems.
Yours,
brian

[Current Music |fucking CREED!!!!]

This weekend was pretty good. On Friday I went to go see the meligrove band play. They just keep just getting better and better. Their new songs trump the old, which is quite an accomplishment.
Saturday during the day we were recording. I was impressed as to how much we accomplished. I would have liked to done more, but recording is such a draining process. Next weekend we will be doing more, I think the end of recording is in sight.
Saturday night we had six fine people come over for drinks before making our way over to a party. We were being loud, so I hope the neighbours were not upset. At the party I was shocked and awed to see a girl my friends brother used to date when I was 17 and living in Brantford, weird.
I was also shocked and awed to find out that the party's host is also an ash fan (well, was. Even I can admit they are horrible now. And I was ash super fan #1). People don't understand how exciting it is for me when I find out someone likes that band. It makes my day.

On the downside of the weekend,I found out my beautiful kitty mow mow has cancer. So I will find out what the deal will be with that this week. I hope she will be fine.

I will be leaving to pick up the lovely and talented rizielde from work now. What a nice bf.

the scales! practice! [Jan. 4th, 2005|07:37 pm]
Hi I am brian and I like food, food, food. Which is good? Which is bad? Ask your mom, ask your dad!

Yep, Rizie bought me a jacket today. A real nice london fog, in mint condish. Only two dollar..too bad she switched the price tags. that bitch is a real thief alright. a real thief!!!

"it's one of those cool guy jackets" says rizie. all cool guy like.

Well, I bought a bed yesterday and it has a headboard. You know what that means? I can hide my porn stache. And I do mean moustache, as in moustachio.

Have yo ever tried lemon ice gelato-like-stuff from the sicilian cafe? You can buy it at dominions. Note to vegans: it's milk free. And delicious.

I can't believe I am back at work already, vacation is just something I am not used to, but I should be. I didn't do much... but it was relaxing. I had a great time, Kirk came down to Toronto,I hung out at my parents house, had several xmas dinners, but not necessarily in that order. I think I would be much better off as a capitalist, that is making money off of others labour. But then I would hate myself.
anyway this is lame.
